The first dance is always a great shot to take as by this time any nerves are long gone and the bride and groom are at their most relaxed. Again, if possible, I like to photograph the first dance with natural light. This isn’t always easy, especially at winter weddings where the late afternoon/early evening light is non existent. Ben and I are well practised at keeping out of each others way during wedding shoots and at no time is this more important than during the first dance as usually the couple are surrounded by their guests from all sides.
